Best keyboard I ever bought.
Instead of laser-etching, they should do what Northgate did with their Omnikey keyboards and mold the lettering into the key itself with different color plastic that extended through the entire thickness of the key. Impossible to wear away.
I bought this keyboard for work, itās fracking amazing. Itās built like a tank but looks sleek and modern.
Legendary IBM Model M? I have several of them I have collected over the years. The joke around the office is that Iāll be buried with one. If this is even half as good, it will be a very good keyboard.

This keyboard will not feel like the model M - you want the blue switches for that. I am a fan of Das keyboard but not a fan of red switches. Others love them.

I take issue with the top 5 key ranking. G is overrated because, according to the write-up, āVery [O]odā is a not a real thing, and thatās incorrect. Donāt you people watch Doctor Who?

If I had it to do over Iād have bought two of these.
Iām glad these keyboards keep coming around on woot, when I get a little more money saved Iāll pick one up as a backup in case I have another spilled oj incident.
I might consider if it had illuminated keys like the logitech I use.
Does it indicate when caps lock is on?
Yes, itās under the das keyboard logo, completely invisible until lit.
Same with number lock.
Does someone make a ārubberā cover for these to keep the dirt out?
I also noticed this, also. They appear to be exactly the same keyboard.
I have one of these with the MX Brown switches. I like how it feels, and the fast key response improved my typing speed once I got accustomed to it. I will say though that the keys show wear very quickly; in only a few months I had worn the most frequent keys shiny.
For about the same price after shipping, you can get a Unicomp, which is the modern reproduction of the IBM Model M. Itās not as pretty as the Das, and youāll drive your co-workers crazy with the clacking, but itās got a better tactile feel and will probably outlast the Das.
