Thanks for posting that. They sound like crap to me and you stopped me from wasting $$$ on them! I’ll stick with my Altec Lansing speaker for now. At least it puts out a little bass.

I was not able to find anything similar to these by the brand you mentioned, just regular speakers and ipod docks.

Amazon has the red one for < $36 shipped:
Color Red

[MOD: Not Bluetooth]

It is an Altec Lansing iM227 Orbit MP3 Speaker (purchased from Amazon) which has a standard 3.5mm headphone-type plug and uses 3 disposable AAA batteries. It works great with smartphones, MP3 players, laptops, etc. I wish Altec would make one like it with a rechargeable battery and bluetooth, but for now I am satisfied and I’ve had it a little over 2 years. It sounds very good for a portable speaker and the batteries last quite a while. It has good volume too. The sound is clear with very decent bass for a portable. BTW, Amazon has a sound test in the reviews section of the iM227 on their website that is worth checking out.

I don’t see the advantage of this Woot having 2 speakers that need to be tied together with a short cable in a portable application. How much of a stereo effect can you really get with a setup like that? I would much rather have have a single speaker that plays both channels simultaneously and has much better audio quality.

Ditto

I have the same Altec Lansing speaker. It’s my go-to speaker for sitting outside, taking to the beach, etc. If I’m just going to leave my phone sitting in the near vicinity of a speaker to use bluetooth I’d much rather just plug it into the Altec, avoid draining the battery from bluetooth use, and not have to worry about recharging a built in speaker battery all the time.

I bought a Sharkk Bluetooth speaker in July of this year, and it rocks despite it being a single speaker. The bass is amazing and sound doesn’t “shatter” even at its max volume. It cost $34.99 at Amazon, and I got free shipping! You can check out the many satisfied comments, including mine, at:

have these and can recommend at this price. keep in mind, the non-bluetooth models cost significantly less; not certain which model the amazon mention above refers to.

sound quality and battery life are excellent.

Did you mean commercial from DBEST?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cheesier promo video. This guy should consider selling the ShamWow!

Can anyone tell me if this type of speaker works with cell phones? I am older and have difficulty hearing my phone. Thanks!

These seem like a rip off of the X-mini brand speakers, which I can highly recommend.
