I haven’t used this machine in particular, but DeLonghi is certainly a brand I trust. I’ve had a couple different models over the course of about 10 years, and they’ve been great.
Hey guys, can’t comment on this machine in particular, but I have been using the Nespresso system since last Christmas and I absolutely love it. At least one americano a day.
If you do get it, don’t bother with any of the weaker flavors. Roma, Arpeggio, Ristretto and the newly released ultra darks are FANTASTIC.
The Lattissima Plus is the newer version of this. It’s $319 on Amazon, and you have the newest model, with parts to fix anything that goes wrong for a much longer time. I don’t even think this model is manufactured any more. Not that I’ve had anything that needed fixed on mine. Love the thing!
Also, with the Lattissima Plus you can join the nespresso club and get the welcome offer (I’m not sure that applies with the one offered here at woot!)
Perhaps the elves can verify and see if this machine would also work for the $75 club credit on http://www.nespresso-us.com/ for buying a machine of $179 or higher. That will cover a whole lot of coffee!
By the by, the effectively one day delivery for nesspresso pods is something that never ceases to amaze me, and my favorite pods are the longo variations, though we just bought another 5 tubes of Roma for my wife.
If you call the Nespresso Club, rather than ordering online, they will sell you the welcome pack, even if you have purchased it before. Same in the boutiques as well.
What’s with the inflated MSRP? The real MSRP is $599 and Amazon - Woot’s parent - sells it for $425. Still a good deal but why lie in order to make it seem better?
I have asked and rep asked her supervisor, their response was yes as long as the receipt states that it is over $179 and to mark other on the list of stores.
Just a note about the Nespresso capsules for decaf drinkers. There are only two companies that make compatible capsules - Nespresso and HiLine. Both make only 3 varieties of decaf and only one of each is near worthy of being called espresso. The other 2 are quite weak and underroasted. Refilling used capsules with your own coffee is of course an option but then you begin to wonder why you got a capsule machine instead of a standard espresso.
