Specs say 6 cell battery but In the box says 3 cell battery.Which is it??

May not give refurbished tag on Laptop !
These jerks never would respond to a requested MS I’d ! On previous laptop purchase!

I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you’re missing. Have you checked spam/junk folders for a reply from our customer support.

Good catch. I’ll check with the team.

To get a new 6 cell battery for it, Amazon has them listed for 12.99.

To upgrade to 4 gig of RAM, its around 15 for another 2 gig stick, or 23.99 for 2 x 2 gig.

There are cheaper deals for both, but these prices happen to be Prime eligible.

The only good thing going for this is the SSD drive. It’s probably a cheap one they put in. With 2 GB of RAM, it will page, but OK with SSD drive.

If you can spare more money, should look for something better.

This unit will handle basic task well.

With $160 budget, you can probably get a first generation i5 refurbished laptop with 4 gig of DDR3 RAM that can be upgraded to 8GB.

It is not worth upgrading.

The SSD may be an attractive factor, but you can get one cheap these days.

May not matter, unless new battery is included, chances are, it is a dead battery due to the age of the laptop.

Batteries are checked during the refurbishing process.

It says free upgrade to Windows 10 twice, but then in the specs it says it comes with Windows 10. Which one is it?

The included processor is the Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 which, according to Passmark, has an average CPU score of 923 overall and 584 for single threaded applications.

You can get newer laptops with Celeron (rebadged ATOM processors) with the same or better ratings and those will use DDR3 memory instead of DDR2 and will consume far less power than the Core 2 Duo (34 watts compared to 7 - 15 watts for newer CPU’s).

I’m not going to say this is a bad deal, but consider that there are better alternatives out there.

I know it’s first come first serve…but 2 hours!!! And it’s sold out!! That sucks!! I have a college student and she just broke her laptop!

Look into a Lenovo N22 either with Chrome or Windows 10. If you need something a bit more powerful or larger, consider an ASUS Cloudbook. Both can be had for around $200 or less.

lucky her. This would not make a very good machine for a college student. This is way underpowered to work with modern software

I was thinking the same thing. The SSD might look attractive, but other than speed, it’s no more functional than a traditional hard drive. Memory’s low, processing power is low and they weigh like a small VW bug.

Came in here to see the sales stats, and it seems resellers might be the ones who grabbed these up in blocks of 3 - good luck to them finding buyers on these 6# bricks.

I am not speaking of Woot. I am speaking of the laptop’s refurbish company. I spent time on the phone and by e-mail getting promises of a official refurb Microsoft Pc ID with NO results.

Lucky her. You can get a D630 with a much more efficient CPU for around $50 on ebay. Put an SSD in it and you have a much better machine for half the price.
