I haven’t kept up with Dell’s policies and have no relationship with Dell other than being a customer, but in the past (~2-3 years ago is when I last checked), removing upgrade doors to add ram, etc. has not voided the warranty. Of course if you have to take the whole thing apart that’s probably a different story.
