Time to learn all about the processor

CPU Benchmarks

no bluetooth or camera or USB 3.0

I work on these and I can tell you they are put together well. Normally repairs are needed due to “operator error”, i.e. broken screens, something spilled in unit, dropped. I have done a few repairs for component failure, but they are minimal. A well built, well designed, rugged laptop.

looking at the specs here these max out at 8GB of RAM, and share that RAM with the video?

Also anybody know if the keyboard is backlit on the one woot is selling? looks like it is an option.

Excellent price! You usually end up spending a tad more on the Dell Auction site to get one of these for that low of a price (but can often get the next model up too, or this same model with ALL the specs that aren’t in this one).

As someone above stated, (and I also work on these too at work) these things are tanks. Put an SSD in it and it will last you many many years.

If you get one, make sure to pop the bottom off, and dust it out good, many refurb places don’t dust the insides properly.

I bought a similar refurbished laptop (E64000) from Dell Financial Services on eBAy two years ago.

It came with an already used up battery.

Not a big deal for me as I planned to only use it plugged in.

Most annoying is that every time I boot up, I must click a box that says “the battery is approaching the end of its useful life and you should consider buying a new one.”

Would also love to know if keyboard is backlit

If it was it would be listed in the description and specs.

Wonder if this would be a decent Minecraft computer for my son.

Every time I see this on Woot, I think, “Good specs, good build quality, very good price, but that display …”

This computer should be more than adequate for minecraft. I have another model latitude with the same processor/onboard video and it is surprisingly powerful. I am able to play games smoothly that are more resource intensive than minecraft.

This should also be eligible for a windows 10 upgrade when they release it in the next few months.

Thinking of getting this to replace my aging 6 year old Dell laptop. The most resource-intensive stuff I do on my current laptop is photo editing (CS5) and basic video editing (usually Windows Movie Maker) for my dance team. Being able to view 1080p video at full screen would be nice too (as my current laptop is incapable of this, either streaming or on the hard drive.) Would this machine be able to handle that?

Mine has the Web cam in it… Same model number… Bought elsewhere though… thought I’d share since I saw a comment saying no webcam, no USB 3.0 (Which is part of mine as well) but it is true,… no blue tooth.

Click the Specs tab before commenting. NO Bluetooth, NO webcam, NO USB 3.0. Model numbers can be the same but have DIFFERENT OPTIONS.

Specs say Super Multi DVD drive CD burner, but mine has DVD ROM. Wanted to be able to burn CD’s (old school, I know!) Any recourse?
