Dell Optiplex FX160 80GB USFF Desktop

I’ve been looking for a “cheap” desktop/laptop to experiment with installing various forms of Linux and connecting remotely to this from afar.

Would start with Ubuntu and switch to other distros whenever I feel twitchy to do so.

Guess this would work as I don’t need high specs to do this?

This should be adequate, but it is a very old generation of Atom processor (we’re talking 2008), so it’s going to be noticeably slow as soon as you start to push it at all, and maybe even under normal/light use. Something like Lubuntu or the lighter distros would probably be better for this.

Also, replacing the drive with an SSD will make an enormous difference, even if the CPU holds you back a bit.
