Bummer, was really hoping for a Ray Bradbury Tribute Derby this week.

It wasn’t an honorable mention but it did get 4th (I think). I hope you include ‘Life’ in the derby if there is an opening.

There is a condition known as Mondegreens, in which song lyrics are misheard. Much fun is often made of this, but one of the more humorous versions for the song Space Oddity includes this transliteration:

“Ground Control to Major Tom”
becomes
“Clown Patrol to Mao Tse-tung”

I want to take this moment to reiterate (for the last time) how disappointed I am that this one didn’t get honorable mention. Me and several other people I work with wanted it badly.

Mark me down as wanting a sneak peek as well. The best I did this quarter was 45th place so I’ll be on the sidelines.

Please help, you can laugh about my question…I am new on Woot, can anyone tell me how Double-Take Derby works? How do you know if your piece is in the Double-take?

If you had an honorable mention, you will be in the doubletake. Not sure what your “artist” name is, but madelynejtempleton has no entries.

Each Derby Woot picks 4-10 designs that they liked but that didn’t win, These are called Honorable Mentions. Once every 3 or 4 months Woot runs a Double-Take Derby. The only entries in this one are entries which have already been given an Honorable Mention. We will then pick, by popular vote, the 3 best of these designs. Then the Honorable Mentions are released, and we start all over.

The top 3 will print on 6/15, 6/16, 6/17.

There may be an Editor’s Choice print (or two) on 6/18 and 6/19 that were in this Derby, but that didn’t win. That’s rarer though.
