Heh!

Is it a heart? Are they hands reaching out in a time of need? Is it wheat? Well, yes, it is wheat. Please support my shirt. Thanks!

Here, Friend

This is a collaboration between edgarrmcherly and me. Thanks Edgar!!!

pretty cool, I like the negative space in this.

Hopefully my collaborator will be able to draw something up… This is about the best I can do.

Hi guys,

One way to mitigate world hunger would be to look for a way to increase developing countries’ production of basic cereal crops like maize, wheat, and rice, as well as important tuber crops such as potatoes.

In this illustration I wanted to create a well-cultivated world where the children holding hands represent hope and in their hands each one is sharing one of the principle crops of the world.

I hope you like it!

Saludos!

I thought this derby was supposed to be about the hunger of a billion people every night, not of birds…

love the shel silverstein feel.

I went for a symbolic entry…the land of riches giving to the desolate land. The one guy sent the other guy “hope” in the form of a balloon to travel to the better life, symbolizing sending gifts of money, food, help, etc. to give the hungry hope. I hope you feel compelled to vote!

It’s symbolic.

The design is a bit big for my taste, but it looks tasty! Great idea!

A rainbow factory coloring the world. The symbolism is just blowing your mind, I know.

Very creative idea! I like it.

.

I know I’m going to have to rehash this a million times but does anyone REALLY read the rules or do they just skim over it?

“We’re not looking for shirts that specifically address A Billion for a Billion or the World Food Programme, or necessarily depict starving people being fed. This week, we’re looking for more symbolic, abstract approaches to the idea “Erase Hunger, Create Hope”, and the concept of hope for relieving hunger.”

Nowhere does it say the shirt has to be about people, or even include them, in fact it specifically states that it does not have to include starving people. Yeesh.

On the subject of the shirt: Not too much a fan, the simplest reason being because I dislike people on my shirts. But one thing I do appreciate that took me a few moments to realize was the purple shading on the ravens.

This reminds me of that Planet Earth episode about rain forests, and how all the tiny seedlings compete like crazy when a sun-hole opens in the canopy from a large tree dying/falling. GMV.
