Alternative title: Muchabot.

My hand will never forgive me for this. I don’t really know where this one came from. I just had this idea, since art nouveau is all about flowy shapes and robots are all about INorganic shapes and symmetry… why not merge the two? It may not perfectly capture the style, and it’s not very naturey, but I tried, and I can’t say I’m sure if we were supposed to stick TO nature, so I decided to stick to style over… conten? After last week’s trees I’m burnt out! ;D I ALSO don’t know if robots are considered pop culture, but I liked the idea too much to put down.

I did run into an Art Nouveau styled Ironman picture after this came to my head, so I had to go to lengths to make sure I didn’t subconsciously wind up making a robut that looks like Ironman.

This design is brought to you by 90s/early 2000s bubblegum pop.

“Inspiration”

Inspired by stained glass.

Struggled a bit for an idea this week. Tried to do something with the curves of gears in order make better fit the theme…

“Cat Nouveau”

Just a black cat done in the art nouveau style.

This is my modest tribute to one of my favorite artists, Antoni Gaudi, an spanish architect, and a good representative of Art Nouveau. This design is based on the windows shapes at the Batllo house, in Barcelona. You can see a picture here

I wanted to show how he would transform nature into art.

And here you’ve got a detailed picture, showing the halftones.

The iguana is just a detail in honor to the famous iguana-like sculpture he made.

wonderful color scheme!

This Art Nouveau stuff was a real stretch for me. Definitely different than I’ve ever done. I did my best to emphasize swirly lines and solid colors, and I hope you like how it turned out. I’m pretty happy with it, though my hands are pretty upset at all those little lines haha.

Here is a bigger detail.

Thanks for looking (:

After having visited the National Arboretum last weekend, I was struck by the need to do something with the humble Dogwood. One of my favorite trees.

5 colors on Brown.

Why can’t you run this???

There will be at least one more design coming up.

Here’s the fill resolution image for your viewing pleasure.

So beautiful!

Looks a little bit like the never ending story monster. And with all of those books I would guess it might be. Nice!
