Do they protect your hands well? Yes. Do they limit your dexterity so much you’ll end up using a regular oven mitt anyway? Yes.
Has anyone used these? I can believe they offer better protection than cloth mitts, but they look cumbersome. How comfortable are they to use?

These are terrible. I still need to return mine to CostCo. The grip is wonky at best, the insulation properties are almost nil. In other words, you’ll burn you hands and drop your pots on your foot. I much prefer the silvered cloth pot holders. They do what they are supposed to do, and have (aside from the silver part) for centuries!
I have this exact set which I got for $15 from Bed Bath & Beyond. It works well for heat coverage, but the mitten grip layout makes it tough to pick up some items - cleaning them is a breeze though. I’ve been using all of this for 18 months but I’m used to them by now and really like them.
Trivet? Isn’t he the sidekick to Walker Texas Ranger?
aww nuts… we dont get to choose what color we get? so if i get 3 sets, could i get all 3 colors, or is there a possibility of me getting all black?
I got one of these sets from costco happy with them for the last year good protection and moves freely

Woohoo, I finally finish completely redoing the kitchen in my new place, and to top it all off, a Woot with an item I have use for. Sweet!
A trivet is a hot plate. I’ll admit I had to look that up. Figured I can’t be the only one out of the loop.
I have one of those. They aren’t very flexible and it’s hard for a person with small hands to get stuff in and out of the oven. Also, I have felt heat through it. It’s hanging in my kitchen, unused for the most part now.
So does anyone know how long a “short period” is, or in other words how long you can hold something hot before you start to feel it?
