Diet and Energy Supplements

Last time I checked anyting with the word Hydro = Raise your heart and raise your blood pressure.

Like water???

I’ve been having pretty good luck with the OxyElite. I’m right near the end of my first eight weeks, and have appreciated the boost to my workouts. I haven’t lost a lot of weight in that time (about 9 pounds), but it did help me break a weight plateau that had stuck for the previous year. Pleased about that.

It has about 950 reviews on Amazon, also.

problem is that it’s actually cheaper from the mothership directly. that’s with free/prime shipping too. that means it actually ends up costing way more here…hmm. that and, amazon ships pretty fast :frowning:

FDA recently released that anything with DMAA in it is illegal. Oxy Elite Pro was one of the main products specified. I know this can be debated but the FDA does not approve this supplement and has many warnings out about it. Buyer beware.

Supplement ingredient DMAA is illegal, dangerous, FDA says | Fox News

DMAA was one of the main ingredients in the original OxyElite pro- however this is the “new formula” marketed as DMAA free.

Did you read the description/features? It clearly has DMAA in this OxyElite Pro that is offered. The specs even state it!

Buyer beware. Some of these products are okay. Some of them are not. Young, healthy people have died from taking some of these diet and energy supplements. I strongly advise a buyer to find out all the ingredients in the bottle, and do on line research on each ingredient before you start using the stuff. These companies make huge profits selling their products, and most of them cause no lasting health improvements. I’m not saying that every single one is bad. I’m saying that some are worthless, and some are just plain dangerous and can kill you.

I find that primarily as an endurance athlete, this stuff does more harm than good to my times. They are fun to take occasionally before a lift, but I built a tolerance to the surge of energy after a while.

It is the new formula, BUT in the specs, they have DMAA listed in it.

1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCI

So either the specs or the picture is wrong. I’m going with the specs are most likely incorrect and they went with the specs on the old bottle. Which is sad as the old OEP worked way better then the new formula. It’s one of the few USPLabs products I liked and was one of the best on the market.

Specs for the new formula:

Proprietary Blend (140mg)
Bauhinia Purpurea L. (Leaf and Pod) Extract, Aegeline, Norcoclaurine HCl, Hemerocallis Fulva (Flower) Heat Concentrated Extract, Yohimbe (Pausinystalia Johimbe) (Bark)
Caffeine 135 mg *

Is there any rep for oxyelite or Woot that could speak on which is which?

The amazon link linked earlier is the new one, and this describes it as the old one, but as nwmsujchaney then the photo is wrong.

Purple top New formula, White top Old formula. Ingredients you are looking for is 1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCI . Could this be a deal because they are liquidating their old DMAA stock through woot? or is it new stock and they are trying to get people to try the new “improved” formula?

Please respond with more details, and correct the product page.

Technically they couldn’t liquidate old stock - as once it’s banned, it’s banned and stock “Should” be returned for refunds.

As for the other posts that talk about the safety of supplements - most of the deaths/injuries occurring from supplements is because people don’t follow the basic instructions on the bottle “Consult physician”. Once you’ve done this, then you should have an idea how a certain supplement affects you based on the ingredient profile and discussions with your doctor. In addition the dosing on the bottle is there for a reason.
Just be smart about it - and you may find that you get the extra boost you need to reach your goals!

We have checked with our vendor and what we sold is the new DMAA FREE version. Here’s the label for the version we sold:

Be careful with Yohimbe as an ingredient as well. While legal, it made me feel extremely uncomfortable when I had a bit of it in energy drink form (SPIKE Energy Drink). Caffeine doesn’t affect me other than a slight buzz, but Yohimbe gave me an insanely fast heart rate and made me feel very sick and over-stimulated to where I couldn’t pay attention to anything.

It was a scary experience and I will not touch the stuff again. It does have a risk of irregular heart beat and so forth so just be careful.

I have the HyperFX in my cupboard. I take it every now and then (sort of switch around between products). It works for me. Serving size is super tiny, compared to other products. If you’ve unlocked free shipping, than this price is good, but if that’s the only thing you’re going to buy, you can get it for a few bucks less on ebay. Same goes for the Condense, and while I haven’t checked ebay for the others, it may also be the same case for them. I’m curious about the Condense. Anybody try it?

1MR is my favorite pre-workout supplement so far. Others I have tried include White Flood and Ignition.
I will add that these types of supplements are great for serious weightlifting, but terrible for running anything more than a mile. I run 5 and 10K’s and this stuff will pump, tighten, and overheat your muscles which will kill your run.

A lot of people swear by 1MR. I tried it one time, taking the instructed amount…and felt like I wanted to rip my stomach and brain out, then tear off all my skin. It made me EXTREMELY jittery and my mind go off the deep end. Lasted about 3 hours. No thank you. Not for me.

NOW it’s a party!
