Crooks. Dumb crooks
Idiots!
Obviously the person is ridiculous, but Iâm confused about something.
If you click the button to purchase it, there are several redirects, and then you end up at Shirt.Woot.
Did a person create some random site just to be able to earn commission off other peoples purchases? Not really sure that itâs financially logical in that case.
And even if that IS the case, in the odd case that the person offers people some cash back on the commission which they (the site owner) would get, why wouldnât the people just use a regular cashback site (yes, there are sites which offer cashback on Woot purchases) and get more money back?
Or maybe Iâm just overthinking it, and somebody just wanted a random site which redirects to Woot.
Update:
I was right about the cashback. I found this disclaimer on the site:
When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission.
It looks like a site run by a Nigerian prince.
Just found this TeePublic user who is selling knock-offs of my Not-So Action Packed design: https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/3189500-not-so-action-packed
Everything in this store is stolen, mostly from shirt.woot.

this link just popped up in my FB feed, for a shirt also here. Not sure of the rules determining if itâs stolen, but seemed pretty off since it was just on SW very recently.

Procrastination University shirts above are all still for sale.
Theyâll get right on thatâŚeventually

Note this seller has tons of other stolen woot designs (walmazan among them)
Why not a class action against particularly bad actors, like âSpreadshirt?â I would think a court could disclose how much these thieves profit from pilfered designs and totally go after the company itself - hopefully running it right out of business! Perhaps it would scare away smaller-fry thinking of building a âcompanyâ this way, and all of these amazing Woot artists would get some compensation (not to mention Woot gets some justice and robin-hood status!). It just seems the current process is swatting at fliesâŚ
The open platform for sites like spreadshirt invites these scumbags because there is no barrier to entry. Spreadshirt is decent in responding to C&Ds and DCMA takedowns, but the roaches just scurry elsewhere and new ones pop in (or same ones with a different username). Itâs frustrating, but I donât know what we can do other than stay vigilant and complain where appropriate.
thanks, working on this now
Thank you for the heads up, working on getting this taken down.
