The best memories are made going to the movies or after the movie.

I miss it, but as ridiculous as Hollywood has gotten, I don’t want to give them another dime. Toxic Avenger was the last movie I went to see and may be the last ever.

Not to brag but… I know someone from the original movie
I will go a couple times a year if there is a movie I’m really really really interested in seeing in large format.
Plus some theaters in town offer beer and have comfy seats and mini table / platform to rest food and drink.
Also a local theater does some theme weeks/months often using original film or VHS versions. Independent and international films festivals etc. One time it was all original Star Wars. Another black and white classic director films. In October is classic horror etc.
Ya’ll need to find some indy cineplexes, and stop going to see major releases.
Theaters are a great way to be in community with others. Smaller theaters also do more events with guest panels and such!
Agreed! Support your local theaters so they’re still around!
Last time I was at a drive in, someone got their head run over by a car. It was for the first MCU Captain America movie, the movie ended and a car pulled out with their headlights off and the person who was run over was laying on the ground in a black sleeping bag.
Since only the front wheel went over the person and we were concerned about moving him, about 20 of us lifted up the car and pivoted it to move it off the guy* and someone who was there was a nurse and they managed to keep him alive until the paramedics arrived. I have no clue what happened after that.
- I’m not bragging about being strong. I felt like I was barely lifting anything because so many people were lifting and we weren’t taking all four wheels off the ground.
Well, that IS bragging, buddy. Back in college I had an acquaintance who was in Nuke’m High. That’s not bragging. ![]()
Is it bragging if I mention that my high school buddy’s little brother was in The Sandlot? Or if I mention that I dated Matthew Modine’s niece for a couple month’s back in the early 90’s? ![]()
Take back what you said about Hardee’s
What character in The Sandlot?
Yes it’s the best popcorn

Far too peopley
He was actually just an extra, but he was in a few different scenes. The main one where you can see him the best is at the carnival sitting behind one of the main kids.
Only Nolan and Tarantino films get me out the door lately.
Last time I went to a movie theater was 1990! GF and I took her 3 year old son to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. No! I can not remember what it was about.

Depends on the movie. Saw Top Gun Maverick in IMAX and did not regret it.
It was AWESOME!
I used to live in Bucksport, Maine, a small town just this side of Down East. Anyway, there was a theater there called The Alamo that ran old movies in addition to first-runs. One snowy night in the early 2000s, I walked down there by myself and watched The Beatles in A Hard Day’s Night. Bliss. Good popcorn, too. A night not to be forgotten.
I used to go to the independent historic small movie theater here but they got gentrified out of business and was replaced with “luxury apartments” now I go sailing exclusively
