Woot would like to hook you up with several window and standup units. This poll is laden with subliminal messages to break down your resolve.

In Alabama, It’s required.

I got an 8000 btu frigidaire but it’s on it’s last leg. I’ve seen all these inverted models but scared they are chinese duds. Can’t afford to waste money on junk products these days since I’m poor.

Yes - but constant fight with hubby over temp. I run hot / he insists it’s cool enough.

I have quite a few outlets in my house that all use AC. My car outlet is DC, though.

Just got a 2nd opinion on my central AC today. I hired the first company to perform annual cleaning and maintenance. They told me it was low on refrigerant indicating a leak, and that both capacitors need to be replaced. Since the unit is as old as Woot, they suggested replacing it, and gave me an estimate of over $7,000 for the AC unit and condenser alone or over $11,000 to change out the furnace as well. The guy was very pushy and kept saying that they were more expensive, but they stand behind their work.

The guy yesterday came over and said, “Wow it’s cool in here, what seems to be the problem?” He explained that if there was a leak or the capacitors needed to be changed, my condo would not be able to maintain the 66 degrees with 80+ outdoor temperatures. He recommended replacing parts rather than the whole system, but only when they start to fail. Needless to say, I’m going to listen to the guy who is telling me I don’t need to fix what isn’t broken.

My building has a lot of glass. We absolutely need the central air conditioning in the summer.

My central ac is very old and not working hardly at all. I also have a room air conditioner for sleeping. My house is 120 years old and it stays cool much of the time

Yes, but I don’t use it very much. I find a fan will keep me cool enough most days
