WHere the loop connects to the stand is a point of failure. It does not take much to break it at that spot - and it is virtually un-repairable. I was not happy at all with the purchase.

Dyson definitely thinks very highly of their stuff given their pricing. That said, I do love they vacuums, but would only buy one on sale. As for this fan, good deal probably if you are set to get one, however this fan is not worth even $150 sale price to me.
I reviewed a number of fans when looking to purchase a number for my office, and came to the (generally accepted) conclusion that for a given airflow, the larger, lower rpm fans were significantly quieter. Even with the shrouding and diffuser, the little blower in the base is still running at a fairly high speed, and is audible.
You can get a lot of $30 standard bladed oscillating fans for the price of one of these…

I consider a normal fan a type of safety education tool, that every child and adult needs to use and learn.
I just got this fan today. I was shocked when I opened the box. This thing really looks rough! It looks like something I might have found left for the trash man to pick up on the corner. I’ll put it together and see if it works but I’m already not happy with this purchase.
I just received the fan as well and I literally just said the something in an email to woot customer service. I’m not happy at all. The inside of the fan has a part where it look like it was melted from the inside.
I’ve always had good luck with reconditioned and refurbished products, but yikes. This thing looks like a victim of Chris Brown. Bad scratches and scuffs top to bottom, paint missing - not pretty at all.
And I can’t submit an inquiry on the Woot Support page, apparently the Woot server is down! I keep getting forwarded to error.woot.com.

I just sent Woot an email as well. The fan works but it looks really bad up close. Lets see what they tell me.
