Dyson recalled all of these fans due to melting parts. Have these units been repaired to remedy that?

I have owned this model AM05 for about 2 years. It is an excellent model, but very noisy if you want to use it in your bedroom. I recommend the newer, but more expensive model AM09. It is a lot quieter, plus has a timer. I own both and if I had to purchase again, I would hold out for the AM09 model. But you will pay $50 more for a new model AM09 over the AM05.

I looked around and this model is 1500 watts. That is a lot! It is comparable to having a blow dryer on all the time. The fact that this woot post nor the Dyson site list this wattage seems to make it something to hide. I am passing just because of the huge power factor.

I bought this the last time it was on sale on woot. People aren’t kidding when they say this thing is noisy. This is not a bed side heater.

It’s loud even on the lowest setting. But, it does really push a lot of air. On low it will circulate air in the room. On low I can feel a light breeze of air 8 to 10 feet away.

I have this in my bedroom and sleep with it but the room is an L and I keep it around the corner and still wish it was quieter. Bedroom is also made from an attic with no other heat source. Heater keeps it plenty warm and thermostat keeps it fairly consistent.

If you’re a heavy sleeper or need it for a working space it’s worth the money. I wouldn’t buy it new, but I’m still happy at this price.

Bought 2 from a previous woot and they are attractive, and LOUD. Not usable where I intended them. Not the greatest at air movement due to design either. Live and Learn.

I bought this and it does not blow as hot as I thought it would. The highest temp it blows at is 99 degrees.

It is too noisy. I wouldn’t buy it. I have one but noise it makes is not worth buying at any price.

Is there a ‘low’ heat which only uses 750w? I don’t want a 1500 watt heater going. My old space heater was only used at 750w. Not sure from the remote control panel what options you have. Anyone know?
