Always reconditioned. WTH? Dyson should stop making them until they can produce one that doesn’t need repair.

I called Dyson Customer service to ask about their 6 month warrantee on refurbished fans. Not only is there no warrantee on the remote, but the fan cannot be controlled, except to turn the power off and on, without it. Additional remotes are $28, again with no warrantee. I asked specific questions about coverage on the fan itself, and was told repeatly, “That depends.” but was not able to answer any further. I recommend waiting until they cover the fan and remote! By the way, threy also don’t cover the remote on the new, full-price fans!

All of my Dyson fans are refurbished, and were bought from Woot. I’ve had them for several years now, and not once have they needed to be serviced. For the ones that have a remote, the remote has never stopped work, and has not even needed a battery replacement. My Dyson’s have outlasted all of the other fans I’ve purchased as new. One thing I will say about the Dyson fans is that they aren’t exactly quiet, and that may very well be a big reason people return them. I personally like the white noise of a fan so for me it’s not a big deal. The only issue I’ve ever had with one of the fans was that Woot shipped it without one of the critical pieces that makes the fan work, but a call to Dyson directly got me that piece within 48 hours, and without charge.
