I got one from woot a bit over a year ago. it works fine. While its an expensive fan its parrot friendly so I can use it in my house.
Have you found any other upsides vs a regular pedestal fan?
They’re lying. It’s not a bladeless fan. The blades are inside the base.
Great, now you spoiled it for me! Bet you go around telling kids there’s no too!
But if you can’t see the blades, do they truly exist? #existentialangst #profundidty
They only exist after you have taken apart the pedestal and observed them.
Shrodinger’s Fan
So you don’t Schrödinger your fingers…
Mr Rogers told them that.
I bought the desktop version of this fan a few years ago (from Woot). It is much louder than I would have hoped. Since the actual fan is so small, when running at useful speeds it makes a sound that is hard to ignore – kind of a high pitched hiss.
We ended up buying a mid sized Vornado fan. Moves more air and the sound level is more acceptable for the resulting performance. While it doesn’t oscillate, it does do a great job of moving air around the room.
From Dyson. The fan noise has been greatly reduced: Powerful airflow. Now 75% quieter. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier™ technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow.
I bought one on here in 2015. Dyson has replaced it twice because it get loud over time from dust collecting in the base. It now sits in a closet and a vornado fan that blows out 5X as much air sits in it’s place.
I own this!
They replaced 2 of them so far from factory defects, they do send out cards with return info so that was cool.
The third one that I have now is noisier then the others but it does a pretty good job, it is safe for my mastiff who likes to stick his head close to it which is why I did not want blades.
What kind of defect did those have? I get the feeling these fans aren’t worth the asking price. The user feedbacks gives me the impression the fans have reliability issues. How noisy is this fan? Can you put a sound sample?
