I might consider this if it came in blue. Yellow doesn’t go with my decor.

*** TOTAL JUNK – DO NOT BUY *** I have had one of these that I bought from Woot 5 years ago - the clutch has been replaced so much you’d think it was a 5.0 Mustang dragstrip car! I have had to replace the clutch at least once per year for $50-$75. There is a reason these are refurbished - because they are garbage! Yes, they work great - when they actually work, but don’t say I didn’t warn you if you buy this and blow a clutch within the first 6 months.

I bought this in 2009,

and it is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I did have to replace the hose this past summer because I over stretched it a few too many times and it finally tore.
I have 2 long haired dogs and 2 cats. We used to go through vacuum cleaners like candy. I’ve burnt up the motor on a Kirby, a couple hoovers and a dirt devil.
I also owned a cleaning service when I was young, so I’ve spent a lot of time with vacuum cleaners.
This one is well designed, as though someone who has actually vacuumed a house has designed it. It is also easy to maintain and after all these years, still has better suction than any bagged vacuum that I have ever owned.
I also tried the Dyson ball and I prefer this one to that. This one goes under things better. The ball gets in the way when trying to go under coffee tables, etc.
Feel bad for the clutch problem guy, but I’ve never had a moments trouble with mine. I would buy this again in a heart beat. I’m considering buying it just to have as a spare, because I know this one I have is going to die sooner or later. I don’t treat it well, I rarely clean the brushes and I don’t clean the filters nearly as often as I should.
If you like to abuse vacuums, not maintain them and have it run forever, get this.

Also, when the hose finally needed replaced, I ordered it off the dyson website. It was very reasonably priced, the shipping was cheap, it was easy to find and order and it came far more quickly than I expected.
Good customer service in my book.

Oh wow. Just realized this is the DC07, the one I’ve had for probably 10 years. Never had a problem with it. It’s outlived all my animals. sniff

Mine is the animal version but that just means there’s an extra attachment.

I am pro-Dyson. I own a purple Animal and I have never had one bit of trouble with it. My one negative is that if you have stairs, these are not as handy as a canister vacuum. You’ll likely need another small vac to do the stairs easily. And it doesn’t fit underneath furniture, so you will need to move your sofa if you want to vacuum under it. Even though mine is well out of warranty now, Dyson still continues their great customer service. I needed a small part and they sent it to me gratis. I am glad I invested in a Dyson 8 years ago. I love well-engineered items, and Dyson is definitely one of those.
