We’ve owned one of these for a couple of years and I can’t whole-heartedly recommend it.
First of all, it does a good job of picking up dirt but not twice as good as vacuums costing half as much.
Secondly, the canister requires constant emptying. It’s simply too small to be practical for anything more than spot-cleaning (not whole-house). Also, the button for releasing the canister from the unit is also the SAME button for releasing the bottom trap door to dump the canister contents. Press too hard to release the canister and you also dump the dirt all over your vacuum and the floor you just cleaned.
Finally, it’s all plastic and, quite frankly, seems a bit flimsy for a $200 vacuum. Nothing major has broken in 2 years but several small pieces have broken off or cracked.
yep there actually is a reason hospitals or hotels don’t use these. these vacuums rely on marketing hype and irrelevant stats to boost sales.
the 2 hospitals I’ve worked at use sensor vacuums. they’re modular, and easy to work on. I can tear most of it down and order what parts I need. when brushes need replaced, and they will, I can order them. run over the cord? yep, I can order it, and have it replaced. kinda hard to replace that.
VERY useful posts and information. I was on the fence and came here specifically looking for user info. Thanks to you both!!!
