I got the same model from woot about 2-3 years ago.

It was great for the first year and then it started to lose the suction. I overlooked the fact that the filter should be cleaned regularly. If you buy this, clean the filters!

Also, about 3 months ago, the beater brush axle stripped so I bought a replacement for about 70 bucks on ebay (about 60 cheaper than through the Dysan parts website). About a week after that, the motor stopped working completely.

Buyer beware.

Did you ever register your vacuum with Dyson? I called them about 3 years after purchase with an issue and their customer service was amazing. They talked me through taking the vacuum apart and diagnosing what needed to be replaced. Then they sent me the part for free (along with a few connecting parts just in case).

I’ve been happy with mine for the past 5 years.

I’ve had one of these for several years. I have both tile and carpet and it does a good job with both floor types. If you have not used a vacuum without a disposable bag you’ll have to get used to cleaning out the dirt receptacle. The DC25 maneuvers well for its size. Overall I’ve been pretty happy with it and how well it has held up.

For that price I will deal with the 6 month warranty rather than the 5 year warranty on a new one($449 on Amazon).

Anyone used this model in a house with pets that shed? Would like to get a review based on usefulness on animal hair.

I use this model. It works pretty well, but it fills quickly.

Does this model has wand and hose to use for cleaning high places and awkward gaps?

Yes, the holse is built in. There’s a pic of the two included attachments in the sale’s photo gallery.

how heavy is this?

Per the specs on the sale page:

Weight: 16.12 pounds

I just received mine tonight and found that while most of it was in as-new condition a few parts had apparently skipped the reconditioning process. It’s nothing major, but the bottom of the agitator has lot of scratches plus some brown poop looking stuff stuck to it, the roller brush had some carpet still stuck in it and wear marks, one of the flexible hoses is a bit chewed up and when I looked inside was dirty. The rest of the vacuum appears new. It’s relatively minor, but I’m not completely satisfied either. I bought this same model off woot 4.5 years ago and it was essentially new top to bottom.
