Solid Reviews over at Best Buy with a Demo

worst vacuum I’ve ever owned. Dyson Ball vacs are MUCH better.

? This isn’t designed to be a floor vacuum replacement. It is designed to be an improvement on cordless vacuums. I bought a V6 Animal refurb on a previous woot for $200, and we love it. Now I don’t know if the “Absolute” is worth the extra $…

I have a similar model I also got as a refurb and have to say it is the best cordless vac we’ve owned. Definitely not a substitute for a full size, but like you said, the question is what makes this one worth the extra money?

Please elaborate.

Here’s good review from Cnet on this one (not a great vac):

Had to throw in my 2¢. Purchased a similar cordless Dyson refurb thru a previous Woot offer. Love’d it while it worked (approximately 1 year, 3 months).

Product wasn’t used excessively and filter was cleaned every other month if not more. Stop working in a similar fashion to when it would run the battery down and be in need of a charge (stops suddenly without any warning). Placed it back in the charger/base station and the light turned on to indicate it was charging. However when I attempted to use it the next, it did not respond. Know it’s an issue with the battery/power pack, but no way to figure out why.

Since Dyson ONLY extends a six month warranty on their refurbished items I was out of luck. None the less attempted to contact the product support line using the number printed on the back of the battery. This proved to be even more frustrating than trying to figure out why it quit working all of a sudden. First couple attempts was on hold for a representative well over an hour each time as they “were receiving an unusually large number of calls”. Each time I would either fall asleep, have to go back to work or run out of patients and hang up. The last couple times I attempted to call, I received a message that “because of an unexpected error, they would not be able to take any calls at this time.” At which point I started to come to terms with the fact that I had been taken for an overpriced refurbished POS that was refurbished with the intention of making it work for at least 6 months until it was out of warranty.

My advice, don’t waste your $ (especially an extra $100+ for this freshly refurbished model)
Buy a Shark, & donate the remaining $200+ to your favorite charity, your life will be just as clean and you’ll feel better about yourself a year from now.

Mine came with the wrong docking station but Woot gave me a partial refund.
Best vacuum I have ever had so far. 20 minutes is plenty of time to vacuum my entire house. 7 minutes in MAX speed is also good for the car.
