Turtle beach makes high quality, long lasting headsets. After using one at a friends, I definitely noticed a difference between the (what I now realize as a crappy) one I had.
Engadget reviewers mostly like them
Reviews at The Mothership say they are mostly likeable
Cnet mostly likes them as well
56 peeps at Newegg continue the mostly liking them trend
Conclusion
Mostly Likeable…
Any chance these will work with the Xbox one in the future?
Any chance these work on PC?
Also, fail Voyetra for not using Li-Ion in these. I understand it’s so gamer can pop a new pair of batteries in them as soon as they die, but how many of their customers have to do this:
GOtta admit, with the Mic Monitoring, I am tempted to get this for use with my Cell Phone at my desk.
Using it for the XBox is a nice side benefit…
Anybody knows if the Bluetooth connection is from the headset or the transmitter? I’d like to take them to work as regular BT headset and bring them back for gaming @ home…
I believe they will, using the optical output. I’ve been looking at wireless headsets for Rocksmith on PC, and have read people using both these (PX5) and PX3 models with no lag.
Will these work for TV through our Onkyo 7.2 system?
Thanks!
First let me say, WOOT…this is the second time you have posted these lower then what the previous people paid for them.
Okay, with that out of the way, I absolutely love these headphones. they sound amazing. I had not used a quality headset playing xbox before and it turned it into a whole new game.
Yes… they do work with a PC, but I haven’t figured out how to use the mic yet, since I don’t use it much, I haven’t taken the time to figure it out. You can use the optical out from your sound card, or on board audio, assuming you have an optical out. Also, nice, but not a huge plus, there is an optical passthrough… I assume you could use this to connect to your home theater, or any other device that uses an optical in.
I like these, I go back and forth between the Astro A50 wireless, but I’m still looking for the headset with all discrete drivers, rather than “enhanced 7.1 audio,” or whatever they refer to using 2 drivers to mimic 7.1 audio. I believe the new Razer headset has the 7 discrete drivers…
BTW: I never thought about hooking up my iphone to these… that’s pretty cool…
Someone asked if the BT was in the headset of the controller box… and I’m going to guess, the headset, and if I have a chance, I’ll see if that is true. I believe the control box is just used for passing the audio from the computer/xbox/ps3 onto the headset. But, will try to confirm soon…
Ok… sorry for the ramble…

Totally pissed off at WOOT right now. I bought Christmas gifts here but they sent me the wrong stuff. Over a week has gone by and they have yet to return a single email. No phone number to call either. Maybe they read these and will call me today.
Sorry for the problems. CS is swamped but working their butts off. I’ll see what I can find out.
I have the XP500 and the bluetooth is from the headset, I would imagine these work the same.
Yes, Microsoft and Turtle Beach are both working together to make adapters in early 2014 for older TB headsets. I don’t know if this will work because when I got my XP500s they didn’t come with a UPC but TurtleBeach is offering a free adapter with any new headset purchased with the validation of a UPC.
KC SAM,
Same for me. Ordered 3 things, 1 thing came, says everything shipped at once (one tracking number). Did you get my foosball games? lol
Do you have to pair with the station to get the 7.1? I would be surprised if I pair with the PS3 and get surround sound.
(I’m hoping i can leave the station plugged into my pc, but pair directly with my ps3 so I can so back and forth easily. Is this how it works?)
