I bought a 430 dollar radar detector(with consealer display) and have been using it for close to 2 years now. Worth every penny and puts cobras or any other radar on the market down in the mud.
Dont take chances with a radar that doesnt “see” around your car, almost all radar detectors have a line of sight worse than we as humans do while driving, if you got the cash go with a v1 unit and you wont see those lights behind you for a long time to come, i havent seen them since i bought my v1. needless to say, i wont be wooting this baby…but heres hoping for a woot off today.
Last time I bought a radar detector I got 4 speeding tickets in one year. I probably would have had 20 without though. Anyway… I’m spending $49.99 on Beer tonight - not on Woot!
I already bought an Escort X50, and that thing has saved me many a ticket already. I feel wary of something that claims to do the same thing as my $300 detector and it talks to you for only $50.
What are we still in the 90’s! No need for a radar detector these days. By the time it goes off you are caught anyway. Plus it will not detect photo radar spots.
Last time a friend of mine was using a lazer detector it pretty much told him what the flashing lights soon to approach had to save… If you live in a big city then forget it most of the cops have lazer. Just to make a point he was asked to operate the lazer and see if he could accidently tag the wrong car… hmmm lazer…right on accuracy. Now for you people that live in the country one of these may help you not hit a cow. That’s if the cow is setting up a speed trap. Ohh well decent woot and decent price, but take into consideration if you can REALLY us it???
I was talking about the detectors, not speeding itself. You want to make butcher knives illegal because you could kill someone with them?
Besides, speeding “laws” do nothing for safety and have everything to do with a due-process-be-damned source of revenue. If the road conditions are safe and traffic is light, I go as fast as I feel safe doing so.
