currently sitting at 4 stars for reviews, starting to get tempted. Anybody have much experience with these?
They are great…if you’re grass isn’t real tall, there are no sticks or stone to get caught in the blades, the blades are sharp, and your yard isn’t huge. Great I say!
Yes. I used one growing up in the mid-1960’s. It was torture…
so… I should save this for when my kids get old enough to mow?
I have a Scott’s brand and use it most of the time. Sometimes the lawn gets too long and I have to use the gas mower. Google: sharpen reel mower. It’s cheap and easy.
Pros/Cons: It’s definitely extra work but I consider it exercise. It’s not as perfectly cut but close enough for me. It’s not as silent as I expected but way quieter than a gas mower. During a zombie apocalypse, I can still mow and save precious gas.
Has anyone tried attaching several of these to a metal frame and towing it behind their lawn tractor? If so how did it work out? Did you have to go too slow?
I wonder if you could take the blades off and attach is to a large fan motor and pull it behind a tractor? What a new idea!
