If you are thinking about buying this bike, be aware that it pretty much requires a $40/mo subscription to their video-workout service to even use the bike. You have to enroll, provide billing info, subscribe, before you can use it. First 30 days is “free”, though you have to work with their customer support to get them to cancel subscription and delete payment card info. It is lacking any adequate instruction-use manual (example how to get Bluetooth to connect to a tablet or phone, required to adjust settings), tho assembly is adequately covered. And a lot of the use requires the portable screen to use. It is not a $250 purchase, it is also $480 per year to actually use. After 30 days, mine is now a boat anchor.

I have this bike and it is absolutely NOT true that you need the subscription. You don’t need it to activate.

This is a fantastic bike and you don’t need subscription, ignore the above poster and Google it.

Agree. Easy to connect to phone or tablet. Freestyle ride mode lets you just ride without instruction. For the longest time we did the peloton digital subscription and rode along with their instructors. That subscription went up and we cancelled it and now I ride freely while watching a sports game or Netflix.

Download the QZ app on one device and Peloton on another. When you add your Peloton login QZ will convert the resistance for you (and even has auto resistance, something that the bike supports but for whatever reason Echelon doesn’t use with their own app) and show you all of your metrics. Peloton has a free tier and premium tiers that are cheaper than Echelon.

If you have iOS devices QZ can even add your cadence and heart rate to the Peloton app so you don’t have to look at the QZ app for those things but I just got a phone mount for my Echelon.

I got this last time around. Unfortunately, mine arrived non functional. After getting it assembled in my basement, any time it was plugged in it would constantly cycle up and down through all the resistance levels forever. Echelon customer service was not helpful. I had intended to use it with the QZ app for zwift/mywhoosh. It was a pain to disassemble and package back up, but woot was good about the return/refund. I ended up getting a smart trainer for my bike instead.
