Just installed mine. A piece of cake. Now I have Alexa on this little unit in addition to Siri on CarPlay. I was worried they wouldn’t play nice, but I have been pleasantly surprised at the coexistence and cooperation.
I did decide to connect the output to the car’s aux jack instead of Bluetooth. Still, I can control everything from voice and the steering wheel. The only thing is that if I say something to Alexa when CarPlay is blasting music, Alexa won’t hear me. That’s something I can easily take care of.
For this price, I might even buy another. That will enable me to do a more permanent mount and hide the power and sound cables much better.
I have a very basic 2002 vehicle. I had a really good stereo in it, but it’s now older than the car and doesn’t work well. I’m considering this, but my “cigarette lighter” outlet doesn’t work anymore, so I’m wondering how/if I can even power this thing. Can I hook it up to a power bank?
Probably better off just using your phone or get a cheap Fire tablet and run it in Echo Show mode.
