Econo-Heat Wall Heater

Uh Oh… I ordered two, got them both today (quick shipping). But, like others have reported, one of them arrived completely broken in half. I just sent my request for replacement to WOOT, and I’m sure they will offer me the option of returning it, but darnit - it is really irritating when this is evidently already a known issue, i.e., shipping in the display box.

Oh well, we’ll see how it goes from here. I’ve been a faithful woot’er since August of 2004 (within a month of them opening) and have made 100’s of buys. One would hope they take care of ALL customers, but especially long and faithful ones like me.

Mine came cracked in half!

Oh man! I’m so sorry about that- if you haven’t already, please make sure to contact our CS team for assistance, you can reach them using the support tab towards the top of the page.

Did that – they responded and said “You can keep the item and we will refund you $6, or return it for a full refund”

Needless to say, I took the full refund over $6 which includes something that will never work lol

Jeez, that’s a huge bummer. Let us know how things go with CS!

So…I got an email from Cust Svc - I wanted a replacement, but apparently all are gone. I did get my prepaid return label from them, and now have the pkg on the porch ready for USPS pickup tomorrow. What a hassle, but at least I do anticipate getting the full refund.

I still want another one. I ordered two, and I installed the unbroken one yesterday - works great. I found one online for $85 incl shipping, so it’s on the way. Too bad it’s $25 more, but if it arrives unbroken, I guess I still got an OK deal on the first one…

Mine arrived cracked in half as well…going back for a refund and I won’t bother to order another, as it’s worth it for me to go around the corner to the store to know I’m getting it right the first time.

It’s really not that hard to see the boxes are probably pallet shipped fragile, then meant to display and be carried home by the consumer…not shipped through a carrier.

Anyways…great product…not worth the shipping gamble.

The new one (from arrived correctly packaged in an outerbox with bubble wrap inserts surrounding the display package box. Inside, the panel was in perfect condition, as was the styrofoam cradle that also serves as the mounting template.

Too bad Woot (aka Amazon) didn’t use the extra packaging. I would have paid the extra couple dollars that it might have cost. Or for that matter, they should have just done it for the same price. How many countless refunds @ $60 plus the cost of return shipping do you think they had to cover because the product arrived damaged? From the comments here, I bet way more than the 8% break even point…
