Is this like the chessboard that was sold a few weeks ago with the moving chess pieces? Basically, does the game move the pieces for you?

$38 at Amazon

I wonder if this is smart enough to allow the important “En Passat” chess move?

There are a few good reviews on Buzzillions.

Sure! If you want to end every game with a stale mate.

As always Woot’s price rocks.. Fun for the whole family, at least the geeks that like chess.

Hmm… Are the Chess and/or Checker pieces both made of plastic or metal or what? I only see that the board is made of stone.

These things are really loud and obnoxious. I would just rather play with non-self-moving pieces and board. It’s much more quiet than “rrrrrrrrrrrrrr”…“rrrrrrrr”…

Does anyone have any idea how big the board and pieces are? Is this one of those tiny little 9" boards, or is it at least a decent 14"?

Why is it only good for 13yo+? The twins should be masters by kindergarten at least!

definitely in for one

what is the size of the board?

Here’s a similar model but only chess on youtube:

Your answer here.

If the computer moves the pieces for itself, how can it castle in chess?

From what I can tell, the magnets are simply to hold the pieces on the board. I don’t think the pieces move by themselves, but the computer will tell you where to move them.

It’s Class B, which is considered extremely competitive.
