ELLO&ALLO 13 Gallon Touchless Trash Can

Waving your hand over the lid to open is not for everyone. I bought one like this because Costco had it marked way down on clearance. My wife with two MAs and son the mechanical engineer couldn’t get the hang of it. The lid banged their hands and garbage landed on the floor. No one could make it work as advertised except me and the dog. I finally removed the battery to disable it and that took me two days.

I got this from the OMG event and really love it. Technically, you don’t really have to wave your hand. By the time you’re holding the garbage on top of the bin, the lid will be opened in the next second.

How long do the batteries last? Asking for a family of 5 with small kids.

Hi there. These are being obtained from Amazon inventory so we don’t have a lot of information. Here it is on Amazon. There may be more information there.

Maybe per the brand name you’re supposed to say “hello” or “hullo” to it first, but in French or Spanish. “Ello, bonjour le trash can, s’il vous plait…”

I remember playing with the one at Costco and giving it a hard pass for my kitchen. A step operated can is better for me.

But in the bathroom … where I don’t flush those flushable you-know-whats, I wonder….
