answers my first question, who th is Emtec…
“The company doesn’t have much name-recognition in the States, and its drives, at the time of this writing, were available primarily at Micro Center stores and on Amazon.com. But according to the company’s Web site, Emtec has plenty of storage experience and legacy. Emtec was spawned from a branch of industrial giant BASF that made magnetic-storage products. And the company is one of the best-selling makers of flash drives in Europe.”

Micro Center has it for cheaper as of 12/31/2015.

But it is sold out …

That price is better,
but even at $44-45 you can get a comparable drive from Amazon with more name recognition, and a better return policy.

I love Woot,
but the price has to be there or it’s Amazon for me.
