Good reviews from Micro Center. Only $2.00 more.

Think of this as a really really good USB 2.0 drive and you will not be disappointed. But 3.0 ? Read this very in-depth technical review and see the scores for yourself. Technical Review

Any thoughts on using this as a backup drive for a 120GB work laptop using windows backup? Seems a lot more compact and simple that an external drive.

I know you have an opinion, spill it.

At 12MB/sec it will take you 10,000 seconds (probably 10% more) to back up 120GB uncompressed. So it’ll take about four hours. As far as USB 3 drives go this is really quite slow write speed, but the read speed is quoted as up to 100MB/sec. But, it’s basically flash storage - as long as the chips hold up, a nightly backup should be ok with that speed.

i bought this last time. slowest flash drive i own. writing to it i get around 8Mb/s. i HATE it!
