I ordered this and received the wrong item (got the X39 model instead). Disappointed that the only options given by support were 1) a $145 refund and keep the unit. $749-145=$604. The X39 sells on here for $329. Hmmm…not quite right for me to end up paying $604 for a $329 offerring.
OR 2) a full refund (which I chose). I would rather have swapped for the correct item. Oh well.
As a longtime Woot customer there are times things haven’t gone as planned:
Disappointment - the logical conclusion to an irrational sense of optimism.
I had the exact same thing happen. I continued to raise heck with them until they agreed to send the correct replacement for it today. I let them know this fell into the "bait and switch " category which is purely against the law. I noted the $420 price difference between the two units also.
If you would like to converse in person reply such and I will figure out how to talk.
Unless, of course, it was done unintentionally. (By definition, “bait and switch” involves intention. If most people got the correct one, then clearly the intention was to send the right one. Unless, of course, they unintentionally sent most people the one which they didn’t want to send.)
There were only 4 sold. I looked at the sales chart. I know 2 were sent the wrong unit. If a company ran their business where they accidentally shipped the wrong stuff half the time they would be out of business rather quickly. But if you could get the customer to accept a small sum of money to accept the lower value then that is a plus. Incompetence or intentional I am not sure but when you resist correcting the problem properly one has to start questioning.
Sure, 'bama, reach out to me. What’s interesting is that after I got the RMA for the return there magically appeared a clearance item “5030UB”. Dying to know if it’s actually my return or maybe yours. If so, this issue will be repeated many times. (Also anxiously waiting to see if I’m refunded full 5030UB purchase $)
TT, if you’re listening…why is this happening? The box sent to me was clearly labeled as the Epson X39 and my order was registered correctly as for the 5030UB.
@ThunderThighs is on vacation. She left @manlapig to babysit us. Which is fine, I guess, but he cuts our samwiches the wrong way.
@manlapig has been prepping my lunches the right way.
I’ve especially been looking forward to the daily notes. ![]()
How hard is it to prep some krill?
Wait…he gives you notes? I never got any notes in my lunchbox.
They kept blaming it on some 3rd party. I told them I didn’t buy it from some 3rd party I bought it from WOOT. I also saw the $420 price difference between the two units and let them know that really had me POed after they offered $140 then $150 as fair compensation. It was not until I let them know that I was going to reach out to daddy Amazon the found one and have shipped it to me. There were not but 4 sold that Saturday so they screwed up at least half of them.
You may have bought it from Woot, but some items are shipped from vendors, in order to help save on costs/time.
I’ve bought my share of stuff from Woot in the past 10 years. I understand that 3rd parties are part of the Woot landscape , but the buck stops with Woot. If the 3rd party can’t get their act together, then Woot needs to go to bat for the customer.
I’m pretty sure @manlapig hates me.

LMAO
My story ends well with a full refund issued by Woot. ![]()
