I’m not really sure what these things do?
It’s a hard authenticator tool to provide strong authentication. For the most part this would be used by a business wishing to secure authentication when logging into a VPN. Say, for example, my company wanted to allow employees to log in remotely via VPN and access work resources as if they were in the office. They may pass out these hardware keys which when plugged into the USB port would provide absolute authentication between the user machine and the VPN server in the workplace. ONLY people with valid, activated hard keys would be allowed to log into the VPN.
In theory this could work in a personal setting too as a multi-factor authentication device but I have no experience with that and could not say how it might work.
Oh shit, sold out
They didn’t say they wanted one, they just didn’t know what the things were for…
I wanted one!
Ohhhhh! Sorry. You weren’t fast enough? Feels like MMM all over again.
Tell me about it.
No wait. Don’t.
It’s too painful
