Fire HD 10 Tablet (2019, 9th Gen)

Oh, no discovering that I’m aware of. I just did some light housekeeping. I probably could have gotten it to not route traffic thru Seattle but it wasn’t a huge issue for me.

That is, until a streaming OTR station quit working for some reason with the default fire tablet connection. It was Antioch OTR

But they (Antioch Radio) did finally fix something on their side so it would work but I wanted a regular tablet anyway so it was too late for me.

Chromebooks are close to that. I think the new ones load Android apps now.

I worked for Google for a time. I’d prefer to not support them financially as much as possible. I only use their stuff when absolutely necessary.

The Commiefornia kids didn’t like rural NM and sabotaged the project to go back. They screwed an entire town and skilled people that risked a lot by leaving other jobs to work there under a failed promise.

Thanks. I’m good for now. I’m eXtremely Diligent and Aware of the places and pitfalls.

Ordered this and got the 2017, 7th gen instead. Trying to get it sorted with customer support, easiest indicator is that the 9th gen has USB-C.

I ordered the 10.1" but received the 8". I asked for a refund and I am still waiting for a response.

The box even said 8".

Crud. The warehouse probably mixed up the stock.

CS should get back to you in 24-48 hours and they’ll reply to the email listed in your Woot account.

If anyone missed out on this deal and wants a cheap “Good” condition “Used” (not refurbished) Fire 10 2019/9th edition, there are currently 13 available in Amazon Warehouse for $39.

Since you cannot download Woot app from Amazon anymore, this is a work around.

I think I figured out how to install Woot app if you have installed it on previous devices, and those devices are still listed in your acct.

Go to Amazon → Account →

Manage Content & Devices → Content

View All Content - Select Apps

Look for Green Woot App → Tap or Enter ✓ in Checkbox

More Actions → View Device Content

  • Apps → Add to Library of Desired Device

Thanks @WooWooWoo911 but I’ve left the world of Amazon’s Fire tablets behind.

I think it’s very odd that Amazon isn’t more supportive of Woot, but it is what it is.

Fire tablets are okay I guess but I found them too restricted while being priced reasonably.

I have it on my phone but not on an Amazon device so It doesn’t show up. Thanks though.

My mom loves hers but I keep forgetting I have one. I bought the kindle paperwhite today though. @katblue said I should try one.

I would like a place to keep all my ebooks. I’m in that “organize everything” mood.

But my mom uses her fire for reading books and playing a lot of Facebook games.
