Don’t buy unless you are VERY patient! Purchased one new 10/2020. Seemed OK at first but upgraded to a 4K MAX within less than a year because it was extremely sluggish logging in to apps and tabbing through menus.
Can second this; these devices run about as fast as a dead mongoose.
Remote might be worth the coin. Would be a direct replacement for the puppy-chewed one for my FireTV 4k.
Having purchased 4 of the 4k (1st gen) versions, my opinion is that while the premise and price is a great start, the device would be superior with at least 4 gb of ram and 64 gb of rom. The measly 1.5 gb of ram cripples these devices. People would pay a premium for a quicker device.
Agree with comment that might be worth cost for the remote alone, especially if you don’t like the 4 streaming channel buttons that clutter up the new Fire Stick remotes.
