Do these have a fixed lifetime like smoke detectors do (their speck of radioactive material has a half-life). I wonder if these have been sitting idle for some time, slowly wearing out.

Though I was concerned about aged stock too, my previous orders of CO detectors here from Woot were all recent inventory, with a manufacturing date within a year. That’s fresher than the ones I bought from a local store before.
