Some great reviews Here on the Black/Silver Unisex

Woot…You so totally cannot have watches on 2 diffent offerings. I call a halt to that nonsense…get us something good and put ALL watches on that dadgumn "Accessories and watches"deal.

Sure I’m interested in a touch-activated compass watch … what’s it look like doing those things? None of the interesting features are shown.

Google is my friend I guess.

Okay, this stands out as a good illustration of the compass feature on a likely exact match:

Although this review excerpt from there is disappointing, especially given its reasoned tone —

“The image shown is inaccurate. When the watch is on the compass setting it does not show the time. The compass times out after 1 minute and then there’s just a blank screen. The only way to get the compass to come back on is to scroll through all the modes back to compass. The light only stays on for 3 seconds.”

I’ve been using Casio Pathfinder watches for years for outdoor and adventure travel. Similar MSRP though obviously without the Woot discount (for now…). The Casios are reliable and full featured. From what I’m reading, the Freestyle watches are “version 1” with a lot of improvements needing to be made.

Does anyone know if Silver color bezel is stainless steel or painted plastic/rubber ?

No, it’s polycarbonate, not steel.

 It’s all about brand origin, functionality, and item end use when it comes to the sub-sites.

From the details on their site, the silver one has a backlight, or ‘night vision’. Is it safe to assume the all black one does too? It looks a bit dark under normal conditions.

Yes, you’re correct. Night vision for one, night vision for all!

What is the thickness of this watch?

Excellent question. 14mm.

No night vision, no day vision, no vision at all! This is by FAR the worst pile of crap EVER delivered by Freestyle! Pure junk!
