Based on this from the item description I would think wood.

MDF is a cheap wood alternative… just a step above particle board.
Most MDF is sensitive to humidity, it can expand and shrink based on the moisture in it’s environment.
If this is for the kids playroom, fine… you know it’ll be destroyed in a few years anyway. But don’t get this for that budding pool-shark, or someone special that already knows how to play, because these pool tables will not work well for anything beyond banging some balls around.
