Air rifles that look this realistic should be illegal. Companies like Woot (Amazon) should not be encouraging the sales of these things. From a distance, does anyone doubt that a cop would think this looks real enough to shoot the kid holding it? Ar rifles like this are a terrible, anachronistic idea.
It looks realistic because it isn’t a toy. It is an actual air rifle.
