Got one of these . Without a doubt the most noisy ice maker …during one of its cycles screeching grinding noise… not what you would expect from a high dollar ice maker. The manufacturer has a no return policy I understand. Won’t let me upload a video but it sounds like a animal in pain. I’d pass on this one. Unless your a trained operator.

You don’t have to take the screws out or lift it up. Put a decent amount of the oil or WD40 on a q-tip and rub/squish a bit at the gap here.
Just make sure you push the q-tip along the seam and that some of the lube is squeezed into the gap. Your loud noise will be gone.
