Wow…this only $6 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/GE-MWFA3PK-Refrigerator-Filter-Standard/dp/B01HYB6WGS/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=GE+MWFA3PK+Refrigerator+Water+Filter+(3+Pack)%2C+Standard+(not+MWF)&qid=1551728405&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmrnull
The ones that say Used, Like New. No thank you.
I ordered some of these, unaware of the differences between mfw and mfwa. I got the shipment and put the boxes to the side since my current filter still has some life left and went away for weekend. I was looking at the product page today and realized that it was specified that these were mfwa. I did a little research after that, and realized they are a lower end filter. I actually needed the better filter and was upset I had ordered these without reading further. I got home and opened up the box, and to my fortune, they turned out to be mfw and list on the filters that they filter pharmaceuticals, which afaik the ones labeled a do not. Not sure if there’s been a mix up or not but hey, I’m not complaining!
Well, I just received the filters from Amazon and all three are sealed and the kicker is that all three are “MWF”, not “MWFP” as the outside of the box suggests.
So, for $6, I received at least $110 worth of MWF water filters, and two-day shipping.
@m1sterb0b: You are absolutely correct. Same thing for me, except I purchased off Amazon for only $6.
I’ve only lived in my house about 4 months now, and this is my first time with a water dispenser in a fridge. I honestly have no idea what the difference is between the mwf, mwfa, and mfwp, other than, afaik, the mfw filters more than the mfwa.
