I have one of these. It works well but I use none of the advanced features like Bluetooth or area calculation.
You know, that’s what I immediately thought when I saw the thing, that the BT is a pointless gimmick. That said, decent price for a laser measure.

I bought one a while back as in impulse purchase. I never got around to using any advanced features, but I definitely got my money’s worth. I replaced all the moulding in my house gradually over a few years, and that required a lot of measuring and remeasuring. It’s really nice to be able to double check the length of a room, height of a door frame, etc. without fumbling with a tape measure. This really has saved be more time and hassle than I expected.
