Gerber Propel Downrange Auto - S30V Blade, Tan

Just an FYI for anyone in California thinking about buying this, owning a push button automatic knife aka a switchblade in California can get you charged with a felony.

Hope they don’t get one in their BOC

California is a natural disaster state as it is but it is NOT a felony.

A switchblade. Violation of Penal Code 21510 PC is a misdemeanor under California law, that can be punished by as much as: up to six months in county jail, and/or. a fine of up to $1,000.

In California, folded pocked knives are legal, but it is illegal for any person to concealed carry any knife legally described as a “dirk” or “dagger” — the legal terms for any fixed-blade knife or stabbing weapon. See § 12020(4). Even a locked pocket knife can count, so can a screwdriver in some cases. See § 16470.

In California, folding knives are OK to carry as long as the opening is not assisted (except for blades under 2") - such as a switchblade, gravity knife, butterfly knife, or other assisted or automatic knives.

However, all legal fixed blade knives must be worn in plain view, except knives classified as dirks or daggers, which must be carried openly, on a sheath around your waist. There is no open carry limits on size for legal knives, so you can openly carry a sword or machete.

I talked myself out of buying this - although I like the design and the price is right…

Way to go. You beat the system.

Yes,CA is a disaster. Now go home or stay out.
