I had bought one of these and put the unit in the trash can. I ran the thing for about 100 hrs and the filter never picked up anything. save your money!!!

A similar (newer?) model GermGuardian 3-in-1 air purifier is the “Amazon Choice” and best-selling product in the category with nearly 6000 positive reviews. I’d take that as a vote of confidence towards this at least being a good brand, if not a product.

If I hadn’t just ordered a different air purifier (Winix 5500, another “Amazon Choice” in the category, with better independent reviews but also 3x the price) I’d probably grab this.

I have this but paid full price. We have two guinea pigs and I am allergic to them (dry eyes, stuffy nose). I couldn’t sit in the chair that sits next to the cage before we got this. Now I can do anything but hold them and i don’t have any reaction to them.

In addition to that, it removed the dog smell and the piggy smell.

The fan is a little loud when running full speed, but we just turn it down if we want it to be quieter.

I have two of these in the house and they work wonders on pet, food, and regular odors. The replacement filters aren’t cheap however and it’s imperative you DON’T skimp and try to buy knockoffs. The HEPA is the only way to go; although, you can buy the knockoff charcoal pre-filters. They work great!

Last week I ordered the ac5250pt from amazon for much more than this. So far it has helped me get over a sinus infection. The lowest speed mode is pretty quiet and the highest sounds like a jet, but it pushes a lot of air.

Keep in mind the filter in these needs replaced (they recommend 3 months) and in the newer model they recommend the light be replaced as well. The carbon filter inside the back panel also needs vacuumed frequently, not a big deal but worth noting.

I had one of these are after continuous use for about 8 months it started to smell like burning plastic/electronics while on. The filter was cleaned frequently and replaced when I was supposed to but that didnt seem to matter. Seems to be the only real issue with these is eventually some of them develop a weird smell while running. I replaced it with a newer model from costco that has been running continuously from November with no problems yet.

Perhaps that explains the refurbished ones here. Would be nice to know if they just replaced overheated parts or actually put improved parts in place to prevent it from happening again.

Does factory reconditioned mean a new filter and a new uv bulb? I noticed a replacement uv for it is 30 bucks
