Finally got burned on a refurb phone the last time this was a deal. Pixel 3, 128 GB, doesn’t work as an actual phone and can’t stream video without stuttering.
I’d gotten my previous two phones successfully through Woot but this one hurts.
Sorry to hear - it’s really a gamble, buying refurb/S&D phones anywhere, not just Woot. Even the highest rated sellers on Amazon/eBay have bad ones.
For transactions on Woot, though, I find they are generally lenient and open to remedying the situation in a variety of ways - as long as you reach out to them within the stated warranty/return policy period. For one of my Woot refurb phone purchases, the wrong phone model was sent to me but resolution was swift and what I wanted, as soon as I reached out to Woot.
I too had issues the last time this came up. Expect significant scratches on the screen and cameras with the OIS shaking issue. Woot really did help out with customer service, but these are sold and shipped by a third party, and Woot has no control over the actual phones.
Are these phones used and than renewed or just factory refurbished?
That’s exactly what I wanted to know. If I’m going to buy a used phone, I’ll stick to Swappa where I can see pictures of the actual device I’ll get.
Hello. These are used/refurbished phones with the work done by one of our vendors.
I’ve been annoyed at some of the exceptions in the woot return policy,
does this follow the “if you don’t like it (and you paid over X for it), you pay for the return” category?
Will return shipping be weird as it’s coming from your vendor?

No, returns come to us.
Having just returned my phone, I can say that Woot handled it very well and the phone was replaced without me paying the shipping either way.
