receiving updates and til when?
May 2022 is the last month for any guaranteed updates or security fixes. Keep in mind if the bootloader is unlocked then you can use a custom ROM like Oxygen OS. If you do, then the Oxygen folks will push out those important updates to you just like Google did for the first 3 years the 3a XL was on the market. Hope that helps.
Side note…With Google manufacturing their own chip for the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro They can now provide longer support for devices. I believe they will now be offering 5 years as opposed to 3 years. The reasoning behind the 3 years is that their chips were supplied by Qualcomm and they have legalese etc in their contracts for the use of their chips that Support is limited to 3 years and no longer… Greed and planned obsolescence, at the hands of Qualcomm, at its finest.
Not for the 3a XL which this is. Their official support ends in 2022.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
May 2022. Meaning it gets Android 13 and maybe 14 beta.
Probably a better deal than the Pixel 3 XL, although I do love my wireless charging.
This still has the squeeze to get assistint function, too. I’m going to look at some reviews to assess the battery life.
Thanks for that. I mistakenly thought the listing was for the 3 XL and not the 3a XL. I’m still on my 3a XL and waiting semi-patiently for the 6 Pro, so nice to know I’ve got another 7 months of security updates. Just goes to show I should not “Forums Woot” before I’ve had at least one pot of coffee.
I hear you man. One reason I’ve been shopping old pixels is because I am waiting around for the Pixel 6 line
I just heard a rumor that it starts 599 And the pro starts at 898. If that’s accurate in the United States, that is super aggressive pricing and I’m probably going to have to buy one!
