No turtle. Just one of those funky 1960-70ās couches.
A cousin once had a turtle. It got out of its outside cage in the back yard one day and we think it was lost or dead. Found him the next year in the garden by the sand box. Uncle said it hibernated. I was so young I donāt know if was true or not.
A buddy of hubby and I grew up in Louisiana doing lots of āfrogginā as a youth. He nearly lost his fingers one night when a gator came up on him and his friends. One of many reasons Iām glad to have grown up on the left coast and not deal with those things.

We stopped swimming in the pond by MSOās grandmaās house after we noticed a gator in the adjacent pond. Yep, not swimming there anymore.

They protected furniture from getting dirty/oily from hair oils and the oils and lotions used back in the day (mostly by men) to keep their hair in place, known as, yes, you guessed it, macassar hair oil.
Not copied/pasted, but one of the many useless items that I have retained since cosmetology college.
