Thanks.
I still have my $1 plushie in the sealed bag in my closet.
I started looking at those single cup coffee machines for when I have a guest or two that cares about coffee, and I want to make good coffee for them.
For me, too many years office coffee and night jobs, and my taster is so abused I canāt tell the difference. So just do the quick/easy/cheap caffeine hits with instant.
Would really like to treat my guests better. I currently keep good beans frozen, grind them fresh and make a pot of coffee for guests. But my proportions are usually a little iffy and guests tend to have different ideas about what is good anyway.
The idea of offering guests a choice of ālight roastā, ādark roastā, flavored, whatever is appealing.
I started researching Keurig and others. Then read of the plastic seeping into the coffee from the āk-cupsā and the mountains of trash from the tossed little cups. Drats.
Then found āsoft podsā, which are supposed to be made of either paper or silk and simply dissolve into the coffee. ?? Got rid of the plastic-in-coffee issue and the plastic pod landfill issue. The soft pod is enclosed in foil so the ground coffee presumable stays fresh. It seems both the machines and the soft pods are harder to find, but possible. Roughly similar cost, at least for guest events. Never did find anything negative about the dissolving paper or silk, but still wonder.
Lots of coffee drinkers here, and lots of smart resourceful people here. Anybody work their way through this to happy guests and happy hostess?
Itās red! No purchase necessary, please vote.
Gotta vote for them all!
(Please Note: Iām not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)
Yes! Use one! Not Last Pass, tho. Never have to remember those dang things again.
A good cup is definitely determined by the drinker. I freeze beans, grind my own, use a standard filter doubled. I do not like grounds (or plastic) in my coffee. No complaints. Ever. But would a guest be truthful? Methinks an empty cup is the answer.
I am so out of the loop. Before yesterday I was all ready to go with Last Pass because I had heard it was good. Then I read Bit Warden was better (which @Froodyfrog just confirmed.)
The computer guys laughed at my Avast anti virus. They upgraded me from Open Office to Libre.
How are we supposed to keep up?
Iāve used the paper pods (but not the ones that dissolve, ones that can be composted) and they seemed to work well. That sounds like your best choice.
What a thoughtful hostess you are!
There are some slight disadvantages to Bitwarden, though for the most part, Iām fine with it.
Ah, I missed the compostable paper pods. Back for another look. Thank you!
Iām so sorry for your loss
Thatās a wonderful picture of your mom.
I did some posting too.
Much work to do, so I tried to pull back a bit.
Iām sorry for your loss.
My prayers to your family.
You can use a reusable coffee pod that you fill with your own coffee. I have used one for years, I never buy the ready-made cups.
It looks like it will be a lovely service. I am a firm believer that when someone passes, another is born. Yesterday, the girl across the street from me gave birth to a set of twins, girls, and they are so healthy they didnāt need the NICU. They were born a month early.
Prayers for you and your family!
My laptop always worked greatā¦
Until I put in the Windows 11 thing.
Now it bogs down & freezes & hates me.
Got a sprinkle of snow this morning.
Blah
Did you get Wooster a gallon of milk?
